Report: St. Vincent Health System May Acquire Mercy Hot Springs

St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock, Ark., has reportedly offered to buy Mercy Hospital Hot Springs (Ark.), according to an Arkansas Business report.

However, officials from St. Vincent and Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy, the parent organization of Mercy Hot Springs, declined to comment or share information.

Both organizations have been involved with failed merger attempts this year. In July, St. Vincent and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences ditched their potential merger after due diligence revealed neither system could “define a pathway that meets the goals of both institutions.” In June, Mercy and Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare discontinued their negotiations to join their respective hospitals in Hot Springs, Ark.
