Queen’s Health Systems May Spend $73.2M to Acquire Hawaii Medical Center-West

The Queen’s Health Systems in Honolulu plans to spend $73.2 million to acquire Hawaii Medical Center-West in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, from Honolulu-based St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, according to a Pacific Business News report.

Queen’s Health intends to spend $21.2 million to acquire the hospital and $52 million in renovations and equipment before reopening Hawaii Medical Center-West, according to the report. The plans were detailed in a certificate of need application filed with the State Health Planning & Development Agency. The hospital is expected to reopen in August 2013, according to the report.

Queen’s Health announced its plans to reopen Hawaii Medical Center-West in May through a letter of intent with St. Francis.
