Potomoc Hospital to Merge With Sentara

Potomoc Hospital in Woodbridge, Va., is finalizing a merger with Sentara Healthcare, according to a report by The Washington Post.

Potomac and Sentara signed a letter of intent in June, and the two groups expect the merger to be finalized in December, pending approval from the state’s attorney general.

Specific details of the merger have not been disclosed, but one of Sentara’s roles will be to recruit specialty physicians to Potomoc in order to expand the hospital’s clinical programs, according to the report.
