The facility was to replace the old Newnan Hospital, which Piedmont acquired in March 2007.
The company has halted all capital expenditures, except for already-underway construction projects and emergency equipment; it has also limited hiring to critical vacancies and intends, over time, to cut 70 jobs, according to the report.
Even with the construction delay, Piedmont still plans to have the hospital completed by 2011.
