Quorum announced Friday it would close the hospital Feb. 4 due to financial difficulties, citing declining revenue and increased competition in the area. However, Nash Gabrail, MD, said he and a small team of physicians are looking to buy the hospital. Dr. Gabrail said the number of physicians interested could grow to 80 or 90.

“We might also recruit area business [leaders] as potential investors,” Dr. Gabrail said Monday, according to IndeOnline.com.

Dr. Gabrail did not specify what he thought a fair price for the hospital would be.
