Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health signed a formal affiliation agreement June 3 with Goshen (Ind.) Health.
The two parties signed a letter of intent to explore a partnership in late January.
The partnership aims to position Goshen Health to meet evolving regional healthcare needs through long-term strategic investment, expanded capabilities and clinical resources, according to a June 3 news release.
The affiliation is subject to regulatory review, which is expected to take at least 90 days. The parties expect to finalize the deal in the fall. There will be no immediate changes to patient care, services, staffing or daily operations, according to the release.
“This is about growing and expanding our clinical capabilities to meet the healthcare needs of the region for the future,” Randy Christophel, president and CEO of Goshen Health, said in the release. “Goshen Health has proudly served this community for more than a century and this partnership allows us to build on that legacy by expanding services, investing in technology and ensuring patients continue receiving high-quality care close to home.”
Ray Dusman, MD, president of physician and clinical enterprise at Parkview Health, said the system is eager to welcome Goshen Health’s nearly 2,000 employees and their patients.
Goshen Health comprises Goshen Hospital, a 105-bed facility; Goshen Center for Cancer Care; Goshen Heart and Vascular Center; Goshen Physicians, a physician-led group of family medicine providers and specialists; and 40 care locations, according to its website.
Parkview Health is a nonprofit health system that comprises 15 hospitals, more than 300 outpatient centers and physician offices, and more than 17,500 employees, including more than 1,400 physicians and advanced practice providers, according to its website.
