The following hospital mergers, acquisitions and general transactions took place or were announced in July, beginning with the most recent.

Yakima (Wash.) Valley Memorial Hospital is moving forward with an affiliation with Seattle-based Virginia Mason Medical Center, pending completion of a definitive agreement that must then be approved by both the Memorial Family of Services and Virginia Mason boards.

Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center has received state approval to sell a majority of the health system to Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health, according to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report.

On July 20, 2015, the Officer of the Inspector General (OIG) issued Advisory Opinion No. 15-101, in which a health system and a related psychiatric hospital sought an advisory opinion related to a non-clinical personnel lease and management services arrangement.

Brown Gibbons Lang & Company announced in a press release that Heritage Park Surgical Hospital (HPSH) has partnered with Texas Health Ventures Group (THVG). 

Columbus, Ga.-based St. Francis Hospital, which continues to work through a deep financial crisis, has ended discussions with a potential buyer, according to a Ledger-Enquirer report.  

Singapore-based Raffles Medical Group has joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health has signed a letter of intent to acquire Columbia, S.C.-based Providence Hospitals, which includes two facilities and is part of Cleveland-based Sisters of Charity Health System.

Lancaster (Pa.) General Health will become a member of Penn Medicine, the parent organization of Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Health System, August 1.

Woodbridge, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare and Fredericksburg, Va.-based Pratt Medical Center have finalized a partnership agreement.
