Springfield, Tenn.-based NorthCrest Health is joining Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare in a deal announced March 30. 

The 223-bed Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital officially joined Morgantown-based West Virginia University Health System March 31, the organizations said. 

South Shore Health, a two-hospital system based in South Weymouth, Mass., voted to remain an independent organization after a thorough review of potential partnership opportunities, according to The Patriot Ledger.

Searcy, Ark.-based Unity Health has acquired a hospital in Jacksonville, Ark., that closed in August 2019, according to Arkansas Business. 

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger and Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare have formed a joint venture to build and operate two inpatient behavioral health facilities in Pennsylvania, the organizations said March 30. 

Columbia, Mo.-based Boone Hospital Center will become an independent organization April 1, separating from St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare, according to local news station KOMU.

The biggest private OB-GYN practice in Louisiana will fold into New Orleans-based Ochsner Health under a new deal.

Five transactions involving hospitals and health systems have been announced, finalized or advanced in the last week:

Tower Health, a six-hospital system in West Reading, Pa., is looking for a partner to buy the entire system, but the biggest health systems in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are not interested, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Temple University Hospital, part of Philadelphia-based Temple Health, has signed an agreement to acquire a cancer hospital in Philadelphia from Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
