Six transactions involving health systems and hospitals have been announced, finalized or called off in the last two weeks:

MyMichigan Health has added its 10th facility, War Memorial Hospital, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope now has one of the largest footprints in cancer research and treatment after it completed its acquisition of Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a network of oncology hospitals and outpatient centers.

Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire two hospitals from Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health: Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan and Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, Kan.

The merger between Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health and Southfield, Mich.-based Beaumont Health could mean higher costs for consumers, some experts say, Bridge Michigan reported Feb. 1.

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health and Southfield, Mich.-based Beaumont Health are partnering to create a new health system, temporarily called BHSH System, which will launch Feb. 1.

Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health is expanding its partnership with healthcare management and consulting firm Arabian Healthcare Group in the United Arab Emirates, according to a news release emailed to Becker's. 

Cigna discussed a potential acquisition of Centene in the final months of 2021, but nothing has come of the preliminary conversations, according to a Jan. 26 Bloomberg report. 

Providence St. Mary Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente expressed disappointment with conditions set by the California attorney general on their proposed partnership that involves building a new hospital, The Victorville Daily Press reported Jan. 25. 

Mike Nixon, chair of the Tehachapi (Calif.) Valley Healthcare District, wants Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health to buy a hospital owned by the district, Tehachapi News reported Jan. 23.
