Fifteen hospital and health system transactions were announced in the first quarter of 2023, with a new type of post-pandemic activity taking shape, according to Kaufman Hall. 

Two Wisconsin health systems — Froedtert Health and ThedaCare — have signed a letter of intent to merge into a single system.

Syracuse, N.Y.-based Crouse Hospital will survive independently and will not seek another partner after the failed merger attempt with SUNY Upstate University Hospital, its new CEO and president said.

Carle Health has added three Peoria, Ill.-based UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois hospitals into its system. 

South Arkansas Regional Hospital has signed a definitive agreement to acquire El Dorado-based Medical Center of South Arkansas from subsidiaries of Community Health Systems.
