In September, Fulton County Hospital, which faces at least $1 million in debt, requested that Ozarks Medical Center and Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark., present management proposals. Ozarks Medical Center declined to make a management offer at the time, citing lack of time in creating a proposal. Baxter Regional offered to manage the hospital for two years before entering into a long-term lease agreement, but Fulton County Hospital rejected that offer.

Beginning next week, Ozarks Medical Center will manage Fulton County Hospital’s daily operations on an interim basis for 60 days without any management fees, during which time the two organizations will discuss a three-year management agreement.
