Here are four things to know about the discontinued transaction.
1. Despite ending plans to formally unite the organizations’ governance and financial interests, the facilities will “work to enhance care by clinically integrating their organizations.”
2. The decision to end their proposed affiliation was reportedly mutual, according to a press release from SSM Health, the parent company of St. Anthony Hospitals and St. Anthony Physicians Group.
3. The decision will not affect UHAT’s previously declared intent to purchase the Nashville-based Hospital Corporation of America’s interest in OU Medicine. HCA is the current manager and joint owner of the health system’s hospitals and health facilities.
4. UHAT officials expect to complete the ownership transition by late summer 2017.
