According to the report, Tulane has been looking for a potential partner for years. Most recently, merger talks revolved around merging Tulane’s hospitals into Ochsner’s system. Those talks included Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America, which owns 82.5 percent of Tulane Medical Center and Tulane-Lakeside Hospital as well as 100 percent of Lakeview Regional Medical Center.
None of the three parties would comment on the halted negotiations. It is unclear at this point whether merger talks among the parties would be resurrected, according to the report.
