The cancer center is seeking recognition as a National Cancer Institute designated center, which would provide greater access to research funding and clinical trials.

The partnership will involve Orlando Health and UF Health sharing in costs and revenues. Orlando-based Dr. Phillips Charities has agreed to provide $1.5 million for the center’s new personalized cancer care initiative, according to the report.
