OHSU Health grows provider team with Columbia Memorial deal

Oregon Health & Science University in Portland will add 28 providers to its team through a deal with Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, Ore.

Effective July 1, the physicians and advanced practice providers, which represent specialties including emergency medicine and gynecology, became CMH-OHSU Health employees. In doing so, they joined the OHSU Practice Plan and the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative.

The deal will allow patients to “access services in their communities, contributing to improved health outcomes, and the next generation of rural health providers can have opportunities to train in a community hospital environment,” according to a July 5 news release.
