Under the new structure, the partners plan to invest in upgrading lab and monitoring equipment and make technology enhancements that will improve coordination of care. The partners also plan to invest in digital health, telehealth and post-acute care “to improve the overall patient experience in north Louisiana,” according to the report.

Other investments will focus on facility renovations and improving the community’s access to care.

The new management group comprises the State of Louisiana, the Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College Board of Supervisors on behalf of LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, the LSUHSC-S Faculty Group Practice and Ochsner.

LSU will continue to oversee its Shreveport medical school and related functions.

Chuck Daigle, a former Shreveport-based Willis-Knighton Health System executive, will serve as CEO of Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, beginning  Oct. 1.
