In the memo, recently named CEO Stephen Scogna said remaining independent would preserve NCH’s “flexibility to be innovative and nimble in the current healthcare environment,” according to the report. The hospital board made Mr. Scogna CEO at the same meeting, several months earlier than the previously announced timeline.
