Earlier this week, the former NKCH board chair filed an affidavit saying there was a group working on a sale to the for-profit HCA. The city said no such plan existed and fired back at the hospital board, saying it was “yet another reminder of how far the hospital board of trustees will go to mislead the public, spread false information and attempt to redirect the conversation away from the true matters at hand,” according to the report.
Last summer, NKCH leaders sued the city to stop any sale of the hospital. The injunction came after the city council voted to consider a sale or merger in June.
