North Dakota Health System Signs Operating Agreement With Minnesota Hospital

Fargo, N.D.-based MeritCare Health System has signed an agreement to take over the operations of Wheaton (Minn.) Community Hospital and Medical Center, according to a report by the West Central Tribune.

As part of the agreement, MeritCare will take over the management of the 15-bed hospital’s clinical and legal services as well as its information technology operations, according to the report.

The agreement will help provide financial stability and backing for the facility, according to Wheaton Hospital executives.

An affiliation agreement between the health system and the hospital is also expected if the operation agreement is successful, according to the report.
