Montrose (Colo.) Regional Health and Grand Junction, Colo.-based Community Hospital are making progress to finalize a definitive agreement by fall 2026 to create a new, tax-exempt nonprofit parent organization.
The proposed partnership will allow both parties to remain independent and locally governed, according to a July 20 Montrose Regional news release shared with Becker’s.
Montrose Regional and Community Hospital signed a letter of intent to explore this partnership in early March. Since then, leaders and teams from both organizations have prepared for the next phase of the process and identified opportunities to enhance operations, improve efficiency and position the organizations’ for the future.
“At the governance level, both boards continue reviewing the foundational documents needed to support the proposed parent organization,” the release said. “Work is also underway to explore branding and naming concepts, with additional details to be shared as key milestones are reached.”
