The move integrates 13,000 workers across four states who are part of SMDC Health System, Innovis Health, Brainerd Lakes Health, Essentia Community Hospitals and Clinics and Essentia Institute of Rural Health. The new, fully-integrated system will include 17 hospitals, 62 clinics and 750 physicians.
The goal of the integration is to make the system a single unified organization rather than a “system of systems,” Essentia CEO Peter Person, MD, said in the report.
