Minnesota Health System, Medical Group to Merge

Fergus Falls, Minn.-based Lake Region Healthcare and Fergus Falls Medical Group have announced a merger, effective May 1, 2010, according to a report by the Fergus Falls Daily Journal.

Under the agreement, physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants from the medical group will remain employed by Fergus Falls and will contract services to the health system. All other employees of the medical group will become employees of the health system.

The medical group’s facility and equipment will also come under the ownership of the health system, according to the report.

The merger is expected to expand healthcare services to members of the Fergus Falls community.
