Mercy Hospital reaches agreement to manage Oklahoma hospital’s operations

The city of Blackwell, Okla., entered into an agreement with Salt Lake City-based Alliance Health, Oklahoma City-based Mercy Health and the Blackwell Hospital Trust Authority. The agreement will allow Mercy Health to act as a consultant and manage the city’s hospital, which will be renamed Blackwell Regional Hospital, according to Ponca City News.

A spokesperson for the city said the agreement will go into effect Sept. 3. Blackwell Regional will be owned and operated by the hospital authority, which will be financed by a new city sales tax, according to the report.
