Medical office building M&A up 14% as healthcare mergers slow down

Medical office merger and acquisition activity was up 13.7 percent in the first quarter of 2023, despite a slowdown predicted in the healthcare merger and acquisition sector for 2023, globest.com reported April 19.

The numbers were boosted by Big Sky Medical’s $190 million acquisition of a 10-property medical office building portfolio. Tennessee recorded the highest number of medical office building transactions. 

The quarter had a 5 percent year-over-year increase in medical office transactions.
