Uncertainty Surrounds Discussions Between Medical Center of Newark, Licking Memorial Health System

Medical Center of Newark (Ohio) has entered a confidentiality agreement with Licking Memorial Health System in Newark, but the nature of the discussions that spurred the agreement is unclear, according to a Columbus Business First report.

According to the report, Medical Center of Newark borrowed $800,000 from Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health in an August mortgage filing that did not detail what the money was for. The facility also ended 2010 with a loss of $242,000 despite $20.1 million in revenue, according to the report.
