LCH’s current plan is to shut down the ED at St. Andrews — the only one on the Boothbay peninsula — in October and convert the hospital into an urgent care center. If approved, LCH would merge that facility with its Miles Memorial Hospital to create a two-campus critical access hospital with the ED located only at the Miles campus.
LCH CEO James Donovan estimated that would bring in between $3.5 million and $6 million in federal dollars annually, according to the report.
