Under the proposal, the seven hospitals — Lifespan’s Hasbro Children’s, Miriam, Bradley and Newport Hospitals and Care New England’s Kent, Women & Infants and Butler Hospitals — would be combined under one corporation called Lifespan. According to the report, Lifespan would control 70 percent of the hospitals.
Regulators returned the application in July because they deemed it incomplete. They will have 30 days to decide if the new application is complete and to review the additional information.
