Last November, LCMC Health signed a nonbinding letter of intent to operate New Orleans East Hospital, which is expected to open this summer. The new $130 million, 80-bed hospital was built at the former site of Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital, which had been closed since Hurricane Katrina.

LCMC Health includes Children’s Hospital, Touro Infirmary, Interim LSU Hospital and the future University Medical Center — all located in New Orleans.
