According to the report, the health system would increase access to top medical specialists, expand services in the local community and establish a health foundation for the Pennsylvania region.
The two health systems began due diligence to explore a merger in July 2011. The partnership is pending review by the state Attorney General. The partnership is expected to be finalized July 1.
