Martin Traxler, director of the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, said officials are considering the option, but have not received an offer from either KentuckyOne or its leasing agent, according to the report.
The VA previously selected a different location for its new hospital and conducted an environmental study on the property.
Mr. Traxler said the new hospital would require a 50-foot standoff distance to all fences and parking, and said he was “not sure … the KentuckyOne hospitals could satisfy that requirement,” according to the report.
KentuckyOne placed Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital and Jewish Hospital — both in Louisville — up for sale last month.
