The new 24,000-square-foot ED will be double the size of the existing facility with 25 private treatment rooms, allowing it to accommodate up to 40,000 patients a year. The new space will include centralized workstations for nurses to speed care and improve efficiency, private registration and triage rooms, a bariatric room, a decontamination room and a CT scanner and digital radiology equipment, among other features.
The new ED is scheduled to open next summer.
