In 2004, Sumner County sold the hospital to private owners for $10 million. The county objected to the LifePoint sale, arguing it still has assets in the hospital. On Friday, the judge ruled the sale could go through, and the hospital could attempt to collect its assets after the sale.
After the judge’s opinion was released, the health system filed a sale order, but the county again objected, arguing the sale order contained findings not made by the court, according to the report.
Both groups have until end of day today to file briefs, and a hearing on the matter is scheduled for tomorrow, according to the report.
