Johnston Health Names Five Potential Partners

Johnston Health in Smithfield, N.C., has named five healthcare organizations as potential partners.

The organizations are WakeMed in Raleigh, N.C.; Duke Health in Durham, N.C., Rex/UNC Health Care in Raleigh, N.C.; Vidant Health in Greenville, N.C.; and Quorum Health Resources in Brentwood, Tenn. All five organizations have accepted Johnston Health's request for proposal. The organizations have until late May to respond.

According to the report, the organizations were asked to address several items in their proposals: governance, capital contributions, terms of a management agreement, a process for budgeting and strategic planning, proposed additions in clinical services, physician recruitment, proposed cost savings and a plan for electronic health records.

A committee will evaluate the proposals and present opinions to the Johnston Health Board of Commissioners in June.
