The health insurer said it has reached an agreement with the Parkersburg hospitals to ensure that its members realize the savings intended by the merger.
Other insurers, however, have not been as friendly. The Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley sent a letter to the West Virginia Health Care Authority requesting a hearing on the deal, saying it could result in an anti-competitive situation.
