Illinois regulators set date to consider OSF’s acquisition of closed hospital

State regulators are set to consider Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare’s application to purchase the shuttered St. Margaret’s Health-Peru (Ill.) hospital Aug. 15, local news outlet WCBU reported June 1.

OSF intends to buy the hospital for $38 million. If acquired, OSF would operate the hospital as a second campus to Ottawa, Ill.-based OSF’s Saint Elizabeth Medical Center. 

The news comes after Spring Valley, Ill.-based St. Margaret’s Health announced plans to close June 16. OSF does not intend to buy the Spring Valley hospital.
