While West Penn Allegheny Health System, the hospital’s parent system, posted a $7 million net profit for the first half of fiscal year 2010, it had net losses of more than $80 million in the past two fiscal years.
Only 30 of 59 licensed beds at the suburban campus are filled on an average day and outpatient services such as laboratory and ED make up 90 percent of usage and outpatient surgeries make up another 6 percent.
