The new agreement replaces separate agreements between the two Providence-based hospitals and medical school and establishes a committee of leaders from the Alpert Medical School, Care New England and the two hospitals. Known as an “Affiliation Committee,” the body will meet monthly to plan strategic clinical and academic collaborations. Care New England will provide additional financial support for academic programs at Alpert.

The agreement takes effect July 1.
