Under the agreement, the two individual hospitals will remain separate but will be governed by a parent company — North Central Healthcare. Current president and CEO of Heywood Hospital, Winfield Brown, will serve as president and CEO of Heywood, Athol Memorial and North Central Healthcare, according to the release. The board of trustees for North Central Healthcare will include representation from Heywood and Athol Memorial boards.
According to the release, the organizations will officially be joined Jan. 1.
