Additionally, the university and its physician group, University of Minnesota Physicians, plan to forge an affiliation agreement that would give more revenue and authority to physicians and the university. The plan will amend a 99-year affiliation agreement between Fairview and the university’s hospital.
“We’ll become more integrated, but not fully merged,” University of Minnesota Regent John Frobenius said.
University regents are expected to finalize plans the new medical center and discuss a framework for a new, more integrated affiliation.
