Last week, a Brooklyn judge ordered SUNY trustees to halt any closure plans of LICH until there were more public meetings to discuss the ramifications. The most recent vote took place during a meeting yesterday, which was attended by nurses, physicians and other caretakers who have protested the closure of LICH, according to the report.
SUNY Downstate and LICH have been in the crosshairs since January, when New York Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released an audit that found the medical center would be insolvent by this May.
