Speculation about an acquisition was fueled by a blog in Crain’s Detroit Business last month as well as a story in The Detroit News where Mr. Ley had been quoted as interested in acquisition talks with Vanguard.

Mr. Ley says Garden City has had conversations with several different hospitals but the conversations have not been new. Instead, they are ongoing, casual conversations. Mr. Ley says Garden City is open to talks with Vanguard but nothing is happening currently.
