FTC Challenging OSF HealthCare’s Acquisition of Rockford Health

The Federal Trade Commission posted a complaint today challenging the proposed acquisition of Rockford (Ill.) Health System by Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare, according to a Rockford Register Star report.

The complaint argues the acquisition would substantially reduce competition among hospitals and primary care physicians in Rockford and could lead to higher costs, according to the FTC.

A separate complaint will be filed in federal court seeking to halt the deal.
