Following last week’s ruling that Portsmouth (N.H.) Regional Hospital will remain under the Hospital Corporation of America umbrella, the Foundation for Seacoast Health has announced its plans to appeal the decision, according to a Seacoast Online report.
The Foundation will file its appeal in the coming weeks, according the report, taking the custody battle to the New Hampshire Supreme Court for a final ruling.
The dispute stems from the 1983 sale of the hospital, which created the foundation. A condition of the sale allowed the foundation to buy the hospital back if HCA ever put it up for sale or transfer.
