In 1955, Lawrence J. Rossi, MD, raised $75,000 from the community and personally guaranteed more than $50,000 for equipment and furnishings for the hospital, which started as essentially an extension of his offices.
The hospital is now owned by the Hopedale Medical Foundation but the Rossi family is still involved in operations.
