The affiliation was first approved by both boards in Dec. 2010 when an affiliation agreement was signed and consequently underwent planning as well as state and federal regulatory reviews.
The affiliation builds on existing clinical partnerships and also closely aligns with state and federal healthcare reform agendas. Under the new affiliation, the two organizations will operate under a new organization called Fletcher Allen Partners and will retain their current and separate identities. Fletcher Allen’s interim President and CEO John Brumsted, MD, will serve as CEO of the system parent, while CVMC President and CEO Judy Tarr Tartaglia will serve as senior vice president.
