Sister Mary Norberta, who has served as president and CEO of St. Joseph’s for almost 30 years, also announced that she will step down in 2011. The Felician Sisters have struggled over the past few years with a decreasing number of women in the congregation and financial issues.
According to the report, the change in ownership should not affect general hospital operations. St. Joseph’s will still be run by a local board, and Felician Sisters will remain in some administrative roles.
