Fairmont was exploring a partnership with West Virginia United Health System in Fairmont and entered into a 60-day period of negotiations, but the time period expired without an official partnership. According to the report, Fairmont General CEO Robert Marquardt said West Virginia United’s offer is still an option, but Fairmont is now free to explore other partners. West Virginia United’s CEO Tom Jones said the system is still interested in Fairmont General, according to the report.
