Stroudwater Associates, a consulting firm hired by Elbert Memorial’s hospital authority, has been working on the due diligence process with Anderson Medical officials and staff, according to the report. Once due diligence is complete, the two hospitals will determine if an agreement can be reached. Following this, the agreement will be reviewed by the Georgia Attorney General’s office — the biggest hurdle for finalizing an agreement, according to Elbert Memorial Hospital CEO Jim Yarbrough.
No definitive timeline was given for the affiliation.
