Despite Rumors, No Buyout Talks at Community Medical Center in Montana

Steve Carlson, CEO of Community Medical Center in Missoula, Mont., denied rumors that arose last week alleging the hospital was looking for a buyer, according to a report by the Missoulian.

Instead, Mr. Carlson clarified it ended talks with Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services to form a strategic oncology partnership with Providence’s St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, according to the report.

Initial legal agreements between the two hospitals bound executives from discussing details of the original negotiations, according to the report.
