The 25-bed critical access hospital signed a letter of intent last August to enter into a management agreement with Baxter Health, which will remain active through 2024. The health system said it will execute a long-term lease to operate the hospital by Jan. 1, 2025.
After six months of managing operations, Baxter Health has helped Fulton County Hospital increase service line volume, improve the revenue cycle and address compliance issues, among other improvements, according to a Feb. 29 news release.
The Fulton County Quorum Court and Baxter Health System board of directors unanimously approved the long-term management agreement on Feb. 20 and Feb. 28, respectively.
